IE9 was the much anticipated browser from Microsoft, but it could not stand tall to compete with the biggies like Firefox or Chrome. And now Microsoft is planning to make the next version of Internet Explorer, i.e. IE10, more productive and feature rich. And recently Microsoft has released IE10 Platform Preview 1. Do note that IE10 Platform Preview is not a complete browser, it lacks address bar, menu, back & forward buttons, favorites and etc.
IEBlog confirms that IE10 will continue to improve on the base of IE9 to be more HTML5 friendly, with more compatibility with CSS3 Multi-column Layout, CSS3 Grid Layout, CSS3 Flexible Box Layout, CSS3 Gradients, and ES5 Strict Mode, with improved GPU hardware acceleration.
As far as the current planning and schedule is fixed, IE10 Platform Preview will be updated and refreshed every 8 to 12 weeks. The final version of IE10 might get released with Windows 8.
