Top 10 Windows 8 Leaks

There has been a lot of leaks and rumors about Windows 8 in the last few weeks. Information is surfacing about the look & feel, new features, restore to default setting options etc of the next version of Windows. Here are the top 10 Windows 8 leaks:

1. Multiple Desktops

Windows 8 will manage multiple desktops and flip between them using shortcut key. Users can also flip between the advanced desktop mode and standard/classic mode.

2. Smart Sticky Notes

Windows 7 currently have this feature but there will be few simple additions such as reminders, which will pop up on the screen on a certain date.

3. Windows Live ID Integration

Windows 8 will have an App store and the ability to download stuff using Windows Live ID. Windows Live ID login will be added in the task bar.

4. Driver Installer Indicator

The taskbar tile will be highlighted to shows driver installation progress.

5. Interactive User Account Image

In Windows 8, User Account Images can be linked with your Windows Live account. So, it will show your Live account image. You can even add videos to make User Account Image more interactive.

7. Aero Lite – a Metro look to Windows 8

Aero Lite, the new theme coming in Windows 8. Screenshot shows the file structure of the new visual theme.

8. Language Explorer

A new language explorer feature will be included in the next version of Windows. You can sort languages by name, region or writing system. All the language packs will be there in Windows 8 by default.

9. Restore to Original Factory Settings

Windows 8 will include the restore to default setting options. This feature will remove all the software you have installed, and restore Windows to the default settings. You can choose to keep you user account information and personal files.

10. Internet Explorer 10

Windows 8 will have Internet Explorer 10 as default browser. Microsoft may show Internet Explorer 10 preview at MIX 2011. Internet Explorer 10 will fully support the Windows touch features.
