One of the new features added to newly released Windows 8 is Metro UI Start Menu.
But if you are finding it difficult to work with Metro UI Start Menu
and want old Classic Windows 7 Styled Start menu back, then follow
today’s tutorial on Windows 8.
In Today’s tutorial, I am going to tell you how to Get Classic Windows 7
Styled Start Menu in Windows 8. Just follow the following steps:
1 – Open Run by pressing WIN + R button from your computer keyboard.
2 – Then open Registry Editor by tying regedit in the Run Open field and hit Enter.
3 – Then navigate to following location HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer in the Registry Editor and double click on Explorer.
4 – Then, in the right pane of Registry Editor, right click on RPEnabled and select Modify… from the menu.
5 – After selecting Modify a Dialog box will open. Change the Value Data of RPEnabled from 1 to 0 and click OK button to save the changes.
6 – Now Reboot your PC and after reboot, you can see your Windows 8 Metro UI styled Start Menu is changed to Classic Windows 7 styled Start Menu.
7 – If you want Windows 8 Metro UI styled Start Menu back, then repeat the above steps and change the Value Data of RPEnabled from 0 to 1 again.
