There has been a lot of leaks and rumors about Windows 8 in the last few weeks. Information is surfacing about the look & feel, new features, restore to default setting options etc of the next version of Windows. Here are the top 10 Windows 8 leaks:

1. Multiple Desktops

Windows 8 will manage multiple desktops and flip between them using shortcut key. Users can also flip between the advanced desktop mode and standard/classic mode.

7. Aero Lite – a Metro look to Windows 8

8. Language Explorer

A new language explorer feature will be included in the next version of Windows. You can sort languages by name, region or writing system. All the language packs will be there in Windows 8 by default.

9. Restore to Original Factory Settings

Windows 8 will include the restore to default setting options. This feature will remove all the software you have installed, and restore Windows to the default settings. You can choose to keep you user account information and personal files.

10. Internet Explorer 10

Windows 8 will have Internet Explorer 10 as default browser. Microsoft may show Internet Explorer 10 preview at MIX 2011. Internet Explorer 10 will fully support the Windows touch features.

Microsoft has started giving early access of Windows 8 builds to Original Design Manufacturer (ODMs) and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) via Microsoft Connect. Microsoft launched a new program named as “Windows 8 and Server vNext Pre-Release Program” to distribute Windows 8 build 7971.0.110324-1900.
According to winrumors “Microsoft is expected to be readying a Windows 8 beta for September. Microsoft’s primary Windows 8 interface is believed to be fully 3D. The interface will be “fully dynamic” and able to adapt to user habits. Icons and shortcuts will adapt to different usage scenarios to speed up daily tasks.”
“Windows 8 is also rumored to include a new fast hibernation system. The system will hibernate in around three to six seconds and save all open documents and running tasks. Rumors suggest that Microsoft will create a dual-UI for Windows 8. A tile-based user interface codenamed “Mosh” will reportedly be included.”
OEMs will be invited into the Windows 8 and Server vNext Pre-Release program through this link, where X’s will be replaced by the actual invite code.

How To Install Windows 8 On VMware Virtual Machine

n my earlier article about Windows 8, I have told how to dual boot Windows 8 with Windows 7, but not every Windows user want to install Windows 8 Developer Preview as permanent option. In today’s tutorial on Windows 8 Developer preview, I am going to tell you how install Windows 8 virtually on VMware virtual machine. Just follow the following simple steps:
1 – Download Microsoft Windows 8 Developer Preview.
2 – Download VMware virtual Machine and install it on your computer.
3 – Once installation finished, Launch VMware Workstation.
4 – Go to File Menu and Select New Virtual Machine from opened menu.

5 – After selecting New Virtual Machine, a Dialog box will appear. Select Custom Checkbox and click Next button to proceed.

6 – In the next step, select I will install the operation system later Checkbox and click Next button to proceed.

7 – In the next step, select Microsoft Windows Checkbox and choose Windows 7 from Version drop down menu and click Next button to proceed.

8 – In the next steps, specify name, Capacity of about 20 GB and 1 GB RAM for 32 bits Windows 8 or 2 GB RAM for 64 bits Windows 8 to Virtual Machine. Once configuration completes, your new virtual machine is ready to install Windows 8 Developers Preview.
9 – Click Power on this Virtual Machine from newly created Virtual Machine.

In my series of articles about Windows 8 Developers Preview, today I am going to tell you how to enable safe mode in Windows 8 Developers Preview because by default Safe Mode is disable in Windows 8 Developers Preview. Just follow the following steps:
1 – Open Run by pressing WIN + R button from your computer keyboard.

3 – Go to Boot Tab in the System Configuration Dialog box.

1 – Go to Control Panel.
